Katrina Y. Williams
Founder & Publisher
Katrina Y. Williams is an author, editor, publishing professional, and founder of Oakleaf House. A lifelong storyteller with a passion for helping authors bring meaningful work into the world, Katrina built Oakleaf House around a simple belief: authors shouldn't have to choose between professional publishing support and ownership of their work.
As a multi-genre author herself, Katrina understands the publishing process from both sides of the manuscript. Her experience spans developmental, line, and copy editing; proofreading; book formatting and production; independent publishing; and author support. Her approach combines editorial care with practical guidance, helping authors strengthen their manuscripts while preserving the voice that made the story theirs in the first place.
Katrina is also a cofounder of The Blk Shelf, a platform dedicated to increasing the visibility and discoverability of Black independent authors and their books.
A Norfolk, Virginia native, Katrina named Oakleaf House in honor of the Oakleaf Park community that helped shape her. That connection to home, legacy, and storytelling remains at the heart of the House she is building.
Through Oakleaf House, Katrina's goal isn't simply to help authors publish books. It's to help them create work they are proud to put their names on—and build publishing foundations they can continue to own long after their book enters the world.

Monét is a marketing creative, graphic designer, cover designer, and author whose work centers on helping stories make an impact before a reader ever turns the first page.
With a background in marketing and graphic design, Monét brings a strong understanding of visual storytelling, branding, and audience connection to Oakleaf House. Her experience designing for Black independent authors across multiple genres has sharpened her ability to create book covers and promotional materials that are not only visually compelling, but intentional about the story, audience, and market they represent.
Her perspective extends beyond design. As an experienced ARC and beta reader, Monét has spent years engaging with manuscripts through the eyes of a reader—considering what draws readers in, what keeps them connected, and how a book's presentation shapes expectations before the story begins.
Now an author herself, she brings yet another perspective to the publishing process: that of the creator preparing to place their own work into readers' hands.
Monét is also the founder of Marketing by Monèt and a co-founder of The BLK Shelf, where she continues her work of championing Black independent authors and increasing the visibility of their stories.
At Oakleaf House, Monét helps bridge the space between the story an author has written and the way that story meets the world—through thoughtful design, intentional branding, reader insight, and marketing strategy.
